I'm a current owner of a JD 790 and preparing to upgrade to a 4310, e-hydro, with a 72" mid-mount-mower, turf tires and the hydra and mounts for a front end loader (but not including the loader). My price quote was $18,900; is this in the ball park?

Do you mean not including the loader instead of mower? ....

A 4310, with 5' mower, 430 loader and HD bucket, and 3rd SCV (for mower) was around 18,100 US (equivalent - I'm in Canada). The increase in price from the 5' to 6' mower was about $350; I opted for the 5' because it reputedly has better cutting characteristics than the 6', and theoretically can cut just as much grass in the same amount of time since you can increase the ground travel time (we'll see in the summer ...)

Kadorken, thats a very good price if that 4310 has ehydro.
I paid 21k for 4310,72mmm,frops,430ldr,R4's and all ehydo options.The difference in 60mmm and 72mmm was $600.00
I love the 72mmm,it makes my yard look like a golf course
and the deck sticks out past the wheels,I don't think the
60mmm sticks out past the rear tires.I I'm trying to figure
out a cheap way to build a "Top&Tilt",so far I have found
the top cylinder in Northern Tools for $59.00 will fit
and hook up perfect(snow plow cyl.) 4th&5th valve for
$149.00,will make my own hoses.Anybody have ideas for a
tilt cylinder, all the cylinders I have found have the wrong
ends except JD's of course they are very pricey...thanks
